An exquisite hotel experience

Ellenborough Park is an AA rated 5 star hotel set in the heart of the Cheltenham countryside. Frequented by celebrities, its impeccable service has won the hotel a plethora of awards and accolades; the most recent award being No 1 Luxury Hotel in the UK on Tripadvisor.

Set in 90 acres of parkland, its interior designed by Nina Campbell, and, adjacent to the world famous Cheltenham racecourse, Ellenborough Park's previous website just did not reflect the high glamour of the property.

Ellenborough Park's digital presence was limited to a small number of simply designed pages. With very little content, the site was performing poorly in terms of SEO; Ellenborough Park simply couldn't be found and was thus missing out on site visits. There was no booking functionality onsite, so the visitors that found the site weren't converting into guests. This needed to be resolved fast and in a 5 star way.

Strategy development & goal setting

We worked very closely with Ellenborough Park to drill down to what their core objectives were; to build a website that mirrored the opulence of the hotel and therefore increased site visits and ROI.

It was vital that Ellenborough Park's new site was optimised for room bookings and had to be fully SEO optimised to increase its market share on search engines.

The design of the site had to convey the luxury of the brand and replicate the impeccable level of customer service that guests experience at the hotel; therefore the functionality and user-experience had to be slick. Visually, it had to be appealing enough to make conversion from visitor to guest easy and clear so that users would feel compelled to book a room at high-end prices.

User experience & wireframes development

It was fundamental that the user experience and functionality of the site delivered the client's objectives; to ensure that this happened we kicked off the process with hosting wireframing workshops.

By asking the right questions and listening to the client from the start we were able to define the content and functionality of the main pages of the site to meet with the expectations of Ellenborough Park. This structured approach meant that we were able to build a website that met with the requirements first time, on time and on budget.

The website is integrated with Sabre Hospitality's market leading online booking engine, which enables their customers to make reservations easily and efficiently online.

CMS

Built using our unique hospitality platform (WiredHospitality) which gives Ellenborough Park the ability to update their website, and change the SEO elements with ease, whenever they want to.

Mobile Website

We built a mobile version of the website which was fully integrated with Synxis' mobile engine; thus allowing users the same slick, user friendly experience of booking a room as offered on the main website.

Thrilled with their new site, Ellenborough Park now use our digital marketing connoisseurs to undertake their digital campaigns.

Search engine optimisation

We devised and implemented an SEO strategy including keyword, marketplace, and competitor analysis, ethical and UK-based link-building, and content marketing.

We continue to build and manage comprehensive & highly targeted PPC campaigns for Ellenborough Park. We regularly optimise the activity in order to increase revenue and conversions at a lower cost.
