That Leisure Shop, a leading eCommerce camping store based near Weston-super-Mare, was experiencing major issues with its digital advertising performance. A tracking error meant vital data wasn’t being fed correctly into Google Ads, leading to inaccurate reporting and making it difficult to optimise spend effectively. This lack of reliable insight also caused problems with campaign performance, as Google’s automation within Performance Max relied on incomplete signals. Alongside this, the account structure was disorganised, limiting visibility into what was driving sales. Shopping campaigns were underperforming due to weak targeting and landing pages weren’t aligned with user intent, resulting in a lower Quality Score and missed opportunities to capture high-value traffic.

Solution

We began by resolving the tracking issues, ensuring accurate data was passed through to Google Ads to restore clarity in reporting and campaign optimisation. From there, we restructured the account, improving campaign organisation to give better visibility and control. We refined targeting within Performance Max to focus on the most profitable product categories, while also enhancing Shopping campaigns to increase relevance and reach. Alongside campaign optimisation, we worked on improving landing page performance by ensuring content, product detail, and user experience closely matched search intent. These changes not only boosted Quality Scores but also improved conversion rates, allowing That Leisure Shop to scale campaigns more efficiently and maximise return on ad spend.
