Ellenborough Park provided us with a very clear brief: create a highly usable and fully functioning website that utilised existing booking engines whilst showcasing all areas of the beautiful hotel.
It was critical that the new website not only increased revenue from digital activity, it also had to allow Ellenborough Park’s PR agency easy access to SEO tags and enable staff to update it without difficulty. And of course maintain brand consistency.
Brand identity was key, so we began by fully engaging and immersing ourselves in the hotel and its values. After fully understanding the brand we took a close look at what competitors were doing.
Utilising our watertight process, wireframes and prototypes were created. Next we consulted and worked with Ellenborough Park’s branding agency to inject the luxurious feel of the hotel into the website.
Integrating our designs with our very own CMS platform, WiredCMS, and the Synxix booking engine, we successfully executed a bespoke website for Ellenborough Park. Not only did it look fantastic, and reflect the prestige of the hotel, but was fully content managed, optimised for search engines whilst being extremely user friendly. All that, and big smiles from every agency involved when the site launched on time and on budget.
The client is absolutely thrilled to finally have a site that reflects the beauty of their hotel. The results so far have been encouraging; conversion rate improved rapidly after launch and the hotel is now number one on TripAdvisor in Cheltenham, Gloucester, and the Cotswolds. To further the success off the back of the new site, Ellenborough Park has been awarded Leading Country House Hotel, Leading Spa Hotel in World Travel Awards 2011, and was shortlisted for this Year’s CIM awards.
