The challenge

TEG Repairs specialises in engine and gearbox repairs, including engine rebuilding, replacement and timing-chain work. Its Google Ads campaigns need to reach motorists searching for a specific repair, vehicle make or fault and guide them towards a relevant service.

The challenge was to improve campaign relevance while keeping enquiry quality central to the strategy. Broad or overlapping searches could send motorists to the wrong campaign, and enquiries from unsuitable locations needed closer attention. Website changes also made it important to review the customer journey and conversion tracking.

The solution

We refined the routing of search terms between the engine, gearbox, timing-chain and Jaguar/Land Rover campaigns. Tighter campaign segmentation and negative keywords help direct make, model and fault-specific searches towards the most relevant advertising and service pages.

We reviewed responsive search ads, ad assets and the alignment between keywords and ad groups. This work focused on making the messaging more specific to the repair needed and improving relevance in campaigns where ad rank was restricting visibility.

Alongside the campaign work, we reviewed bidding, budget pacing, locations, devices and time of day. A conversion-tracking audit followed the new website launch, with landing-page feedback and a dedicated Jaguar/Land Rover page brief supporting the wider customer journey.

In the year-on-year comparison, Google Ads clicks increased from 3,204 to 5,268. Click-through rate rose from 6.02% to 8.71%, a 45% relative increase, while impressions grew from 53,187 to 60,505.

Google Ads-attributed enquiry-form actions grew by 13%. Advertising investment was 82% higher over the same comparison, so the growth in activity reflects both increased investment and ongoing campaign work.

The account also records phone, WhatsApp and email button clicks. These are contact actions, and the totals have not been reconciled with unique customers or completed repair jobs. Following website and tracking changes, the next priority is to compare qualified enquiries and booked work across the core repair services, while continuing to refine location coverage and campaign relevance.
