MySQL
MySQL is the worlds leading open source relational database management system (RDBMS). We use it extensively here at Wired Media to aid the development of dynamic web sites and applications. It handles the data requirements of some of the worlds leading websites such as Facebook, Flickr and Wikipedia.
MySQL first appeared as a light weight database system in 1995 and has grown with the web since then. The latest release, 5.1, is fully ACID compliant (which in layman's terms means that it meets a set of accepted criteria for ensuring that your data is stored, accessed and updated in a reliable and safe way), and version 6 is due to be released soon, including improved unicode support and new features (including the new Falcon storage engine) to help it cope with high load scenarios.
We are experts in the installation, configuration, use and management of mysql installations and databases.
We also have experience in offering high availability (HA) MySQL solutions for demanding applications using clustering and or one of the several available replication strategies to achieve this
